O silêncio nocturno da pacata cidade de Saurimo, capital provincial, encapota o descontentamento por falta de combustíveis nos postos de abastecimento, principalmente da SONANGOL (Girassol). Os automobilistas e motociclistas são obrigados a recorrer à candonga, em que o preço do litro de gasolina varia de 250 a 300 kwanzas.

Até ao oitavo dia de Abril de 2023, a venda de combustíveis (ao público) e outros derivados do petróleo era assegurada por um posto da Pumangol, sito no centro da cidade. A segunda, localizada nas proximidades do mercado ‘Grande Portão do Leste’, bairro Candembe, Estrada Nacional n.º 230, também vendia, mas só por encomenda.

A venda de combustível por encomenda nos postos oficiais, sobretudo na Pumangol, no Saurimo, é considerada normal, apesar dos protestos dos clientes, principalmente dos motociclistas que se consideram mais 'penalizados' neste processo.        

“As empresas sem reservatório compram antecipadamente grandes quantidades. Por exemplo, se um posto de abastecimento com tanque de cinco mil litros de gasolina lhe for solicitada a reserva de três mil, vende apenas dois mil à população”, explicou um dos trabalhadores de um posto de combustível da SONANGOL, que se identificou por Zé Mário.

'Dispute' between Sonangol and concessionaires affects supply

The nocturnal silence of the peaceful city of Saurimo, the provincial capital, masks the discontent over the lack of fuel at the filling stations, especially at Sonangol (Girassol). Motorists and motorcyclists are forced to resort to the black market, where the price of a liter of gasoline varies from 250 to 300 kwanzas.

Until April 8, 2023, the sale of fuel (to the public) and other petroleum derivatives was ensured by a Pumangol station located in the city center. The second, located near the "Grande Portão do Leste" market, Candembe neighborhood, national road nº 230, also sold, but only by order.

The sale of fuel by order at official stations, especially at Pumangol, in Saurimo, is considered normal, despite protests from customers, especially motorcyclists, who consider themselves more 'penalized' in this process.

"Companies without reservoirs buy large quantities in advance. For example, if a filling station with a 5,000-liter gasoline tank is asked to reserve 3,000, it only sells 2,000 to the population," explained one of the workers at a Sonangol filling station, who identified himself as Zé Mário.
